The 2030 FIFA World Cup celebrates 100 years of the tournament. Hosted by Morocco, Spain and Portugal, with three opening matches in South America, it will bring together 48 teams. Here is your complete guide — and the alert so you don't miss the ticket on-sale date.
The 2030 World Cup marks the centenary of the tournament, first held in Uruguay in 1930. To mark the occasion, FIFA has handed hosting duties to an unprecedented trio — Morocco, Spain and Portugal — where the vast majority of the 104 matches will be played. Three celebratory opening fixtures will take place in South America: in Uruguay (at the legendary Estadio Centenario in Montevideo), in Argentina and in Paraguay.
It is the first time a World Cup has stretched across so many countries and continents. For fans, that means an exceptional choice of destinations, but also ticketing and logistics to plan well in advance. This page brings together the essentials; each topic has its own detailed page.
Official tickets will be sold only on FIFA.com, in successive phases. Based on previous editions, ticket sales usually open 12 to 18 months before kick-off — meaning, for 2030, a first window is expected during 2029. Sales most often start with a priority random draw (demand outstrips supply), followed by direct-purchase phases and last-minute sales.
